The Brereton Barrier™ is made of 3M patented, FDA certified, non-transdermal material.
Forgetting to place your Brereton Barrier™ at any one time should not impact you. Simply set up a reminder for when you change out your fentanyl patch to assure you do not forget again. If you do forget again, adjust the size of your Brereton Barrier™ down one size. For example, if you were using the large (20%) Brereton Barrier™, then use a medium (15%) Brereton Barrier™. If you are using a small (10%) Brereton Barrier™, there is no action needed other than to use the small (10%) Brereton Barrier™ at your next interval of changing out the fentanyl patch. Every fentanyl patch has detailed instructions with clear advisements on these topics. Our instructions to every user of the Brereton Barrier™ is to follow all manufacturer recommendations including following all conditional warnings relative to adding heat to the surface of the patch. Refer to manufacturer instructions for proper use.
